Barbara Maule-White (83) passed June 8 after a long battle with heart disease. She was born 1/25/35 as the only daughter of John Richard and Tressa Schoen Pallowick in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Barbara moved to Arizona in 1971 after the death of her husband, Henry I. Maule. In the 1970’s she held various leadership offices in the Greater Paradise Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Paradise Valley Woman’s Club, groups that were active in shaping future development of Northeast Phoenix, participating in establishment of the first permanent library (Mesquite branch) in the Greater Paradise Valley area. Barbara was a successful Realtor in Phoenix during the 70’s and 80’s, then transitioned to public service and retired from the State of Arizona in May 1998.
In retirement, Barbara served on the steering committee for the Surprise Regional Library (opened 2002). She also was active in traveling, teaching needlework classes, and participating in the Sun Village needlework group in Surprise. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Norman Lee White (2017), and daughter Mary Maule (1959). She is survived by 3 children: Charles (Sarah) Maule, Nancy (Mark) Teetsel, David (Julie Sharp) Maule, and 5 grandchildren: Michael Greer, Brian and Adrianna Maule, and Tressa and Patrick Teetsel. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 23 at 1 – 4 PM at Brookdale Assisted Living (Desert Ridge), 4050 E. Bluefield Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85032.
