Kelly Jesse Hathaway, 55, of Avondale, went to be with his Savior surrounded by his loving family on March 14, 2019 after a strong valiant battle with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy.
Kelly was born to Kirby and Barbara Hathaway in Massachusetts on November 27, 1963. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda, and their three children, Ashley (Bret) Olson, Andrew, and Alex. He is also survived by his parents and his brother Kyle and sister Cynthia, 5 nephews and 3 nieces. He is preceded in death by his older brother Kirk and his nephew Randall.
Kelly served his country proudly in the United States Army. His love for his family was only surpassed by his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He served faithfully in every church he has attended since he was a child by singing, serving as a choir director, Awana leader, youth leader, and Deacon.
He also was an avid Suns fan. Anyone who knows him knew how he never failed in cheering the Suns on to a championship which they sadly never achieved. He never gave up and we have to believe God will allow him to cheer them on from Heaven.
Please honor Kelly’s life by joining in his services on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 965 E. Van Buren, Suite 111-113, Avondale. Burial will be at 12:30 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at Cave Creek and Pinnacle Peak Roads in Phoenix. Following the services, family and friends are invited to attend a gathering at the home of his sister-in-law, Paula Paty, at 16036 N. 11th Ave., Unit 1088; Gate Code #8180. In order to ensure adequate refreshments, please RSVP to email@example.com, 602-481-5203 or to the family directly.
We will all miss Kelly but are joyous that he is home with his Heavenly Father and those who went ahead and is now able to run the streets of gold.
