Obituary

Benjamin Ray Yardic, a.k.a. Benny, arrived on this earth on September 11th, 1966 with his foot on the throttle.

He was the happiest when his hands were greasy and the wind in his hair. There was nothing mechanical that he could not fix.

According to Benny, you know when you meet your soul mate, she will put up with all your shit and love you unconditionally—that was my Natalie.

Benny was a great uncle, brother, son and husband. We will miss him dearly. He was a man of great integrity and his word was his bond. He had a certain aura about him that attracted many friends who eventually became family.

Although we were not ready to lose him, we know he is in heaven riding his Harley with wind in his hair without pain. His family knows things happen on Ben’s time.

Ben - My "other" little brother. Always knew that he would try anything at least once!! When I was living in NY, he came to visit. I had just had my daughter, Julie. She was only 4 or 5 months old. He swooned over her and I asked if he wanted to hold her. He held his arms out...reluctantly. He said he'd never held a baby before!! I laughed and said....first time for everything! I handed her to Ben and she gracefully slid into the crook of his elbows and he was holding her like cordwood!!! I laughed and showed him how to put one hand under her bum and support her back with his other arm. Julie looked up at him and fell in love!! Uncle Benny from then on! Love and comfort to Natalie, Carole, Kim and the rest of the family. He was a good soulful man with a large heart. He will be missed. Victoria Okorn

Brother Benny, the memories you have left with me would probably fill a book. But you already know I could not give the detailed description that you could. But I do remember a time when 5 of us made a trip to California. And when we got there and got out, bystanders must have been shaking their heads. Watching 5 bikers climbing out of a soccer mom van. That in itself could be the end of the memory....... But as most know. It never is with Yard dog involved. Anfter we crawled back into that van. With all of muskrats prizes from the raffles tickets and his one day of luck. We were headed to another location. Well, we got stopped by chp less than 5 min in the van. And next thing you know we have 2 officers in full swat gear and fully automatic AR15's on the passenger side of the van and one on driver side talking to me. And of course Benny being Benny kept asking the lead officer if he could have one particular officer please remove her finger from the trigger of a fully automatic AR15. Cause she was making him nervous. And as we all know. It took more than that for Benny to be nervous. I swear that man never showed an ounce of nervousness. We ended up being able to drive away and have an enjoyable evening making new friends and more memories. And sharing the story of the 5 bikers in a soccer mom van for years to come. I love you brother, miss you dearly. RIDE IN PEACE Singer DTFFDT
