Obituary

Robert “Bob” Joslyn, age 81, of Sun City, Arizona passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the loving care of hospice after complications from surgery. He was born in Milwaukee, WI and grew up with a love for working on anything with an engine. He spent his high school years in the Mellotones Car Club and went on to have a long career with General Motors for more than 20 years. Bob had a great love for antique cars and his prize possession was his white 1969 Cadillac DeVille Convertible. He spent his free time in retirement working at the Martin Auto Museum, showing his car at area car shows, and being a member of the Sun City Car Club and Vintage Car Club. His other great love was his sweet West Highland Terrier, Duffy.

Bob was a loving husband to Laura for 31 years. Bob loved his blended family which included his children Rick (Laura), Steve, Patti (Lee Eggers), and Peter (Christel) from his first marriage and two daughters, Robin (Keith Erickson) and Lori (Don Julen), from his second marriage to Laura. Bob loved all of his kids and especially his 10 grandchildren- Lindsey (Adam Garcia), Lee, Chelsea (Nick Pieczynski), Mallory, Sara, Mandy, Andy, Emily, Daniel, and a new granddaughter- Mackenzie arriving this June. He especially loved his great-grandson, Levi.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Charles, his son Steve, and stepdaughter Lori. Bob was in the loving care of Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, AZ in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated at Hospice of the Valley (http://hov.org/donate) in order to support other families in their final days with their loved ones.

Bob was my boss at Chevrolet back in the 90's. He was a great boss once we got in sync with each other. Bob had high standards and expected them of me as well - that was ok with me but I had a rebellious streak (worse than today) that I tried to test Bob. He wasn't having any of that and was a step ahead of me. Like I said, once I got to know Bob, he was nothing but a good and kind boss to me and extremely generous to me. Working for him back then and on his team of Lee Lange and Jerry Keeley, was a wonderful time in my Chevrolet career.
