Obituary of Robert Clifford Scroggins

Robert “Bobby” Scroggins passed away on October 12rh, 2022, at the age of 74 of a sudden illness, which Bob faced like he did everything else in life-with an indomitable fighting spirit. Despite his pain, Bob remained a rock for his family and friends, full of love and laughter, until the end. Bob was the kind of man who never met a stranger. If you accompanied Bob anywhere in town, you inevitably ran into a friend he knew from his many life journeys. Bob touched the lives of all who knew him. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Bob was born to Robert and Jeannine Scroggins on October 6th, 1948, in Rockford, Illinois. Bob graduated from Auburn High School ,During which time he turned a love of boxing into a brief career in the Golden Gloves. As a young man, Bob also discovered one of his greatest passions in life-riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. In 1988, Bob met his other great passion, his wife and soulmate, Michele St.Angel-Scroggins. Bob and Michele had just celebrated 33 years of marriage. Bob also loved to work, and he worked most of his life, including up until his hospitalization. Bob and Michele had relocated to Arizona during their golden years, which afforded Bob the opportunity to ride his beloved yellow Harley all year round, which he did up until the end. When not working, riding or chatting with his many friends, Bob was watching sports. He loved all sports, but in particular was an avid Notre Dame college football fan. A dog lover, Bob also loved to spend time doting on his rescue dog, Chance. Bob is preceded in death by parents Robert and Jeannine Scroggins, daughter Tracy Scroggins, and brother Tommy Matts. He is survived by his wife Michele, daughter Melissa Frasure, daughter Summer Scroggins, brother Bill Scroggins, sister Sherrie Teitz, sister Lisa Gillespie, grandchildren Shelby, Petra, Collins, and Henry, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
