Obituary of Christopher Martin Rickaby

Christopher Martin Rickaby, 48, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on June 2, 2022. Chris was born in Aurora, Illinois on January 13,1974 to Linda and Clarence Rickaby. He grew up in Arvada, Colorado and attended Standley Lake High School in Westminster, Colorado. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at the State University of New York. Chris proudly served in the United States Navy as a commissioning sailor (with his brother, Scott) onboard the USS Decatur (DDG-73) and went on to become a U.S. Navy SEAL where he was trained as a Naval Special Warfare Sniper, Combat Diver, and SDV Pilot. After his military service, Chris had a successful career in Medical Device Sales and later ran assisted living homes where he enjoyed comforting and telling stories with veterans in his care. Chris found harmony in adrenaline filled activities such as fast cars and participating in auto racing. Chris leaves behind his sweet daughter, Charlie Isabella Rickaby and partner Emily Smith, parents Linda and Clarence Rickaby, brother Scott Rickaby, sister Kelly (and Weston) Pawlowski, niece Roslyn Pawlowski and was preceded in death by grandparents Riley and Patricia Moore, Louis and Elizabeth Rickaby and aunts, uncles and cousins. A Military burial will follow the service at 2 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ, 85024.
