Rolonda (Ronnie) Jeanne Elliott, died peacefully on May 9, 2022 at home in Surprise, Arizona. She is survived by her husband Lyle Elliott, her children Jody Welsch and Craig Elliott, her grandchildren Delaney Welsch and Garrett Elliott, and son-in-law Dan Welsch and daughter-in-law Bri Elliott, Brother Ludwig Ponikvar Jr., and Sisters Alice Morrison and Deana Horchner. Ronnie was born in Leadville, Colorado on May 27, 1948 to Ludwig and Evelyn Ponikvar. In 1970, Ronnie and Lyle were married and began a family and their many wonderful adventures and travels together. Ronnie worked at various colleges and banks that led to her final career goal. At age 48 she went back to college and received her bachelor’s degree in finance at Grand Canyon University. Ronnie continued her education and went onto Northern Arizona University to receive her Master’s degree in Education. Throughout her career of working towards these degrees, she worked at Phoenix College and worked up the career ladder to become the Vice President of the Fiscal Department. Ronnie did all this while still tending to her family's needs. Ronnie was a smart, beautiful, caring, passionate and generous lady. She had a variety of talents such as gardening, baking, knitting, and listening to music and sharing many laughs over board games with friends and family. Ronnie was a compassionate woman, who demonstrated this through caring for animals on her and her husband’s farm, and through caring for others. She had an enormous impact on those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
