Obituary of Patricia Menees

Patricia Menees, “nee” Stothard, died peacefully on April 24 th at home in Peoria, AZ shortly after celebrating her 92nd birthday. Pat was born in Blue Island, IL to Edwin Stothard and Mildred Eidam Stothard. She is survived by her children Sheryl Caponera (Paul), Melanie Menees, Kristi Menees (Gerard Gardner), Todd Menees (Kate) and Lindyl Arno (Vito); seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. On top of her very long list of accomplishments, her greatest joy was her unwavering love and devotion to her family - Pat inspired her children to achieve and be engaged. Pat will long be remembered by all for her delightful smile and adventurous spirit, and, admired for her creative and energetic contributions to her children and grandchildren, work life, church life, volunteer life and boy could she cook! Aside from her family, her major passion was helping others. Pat retired as Director of Personnel @ The New York University School of Business in 1992. After retiring, she lived for ten years in Leesburg, FL and then moved to Peoria, AZ in 2003. She embraced a full church life as a lifelong faithful Presbyterian, serving as a Stephen’s Minister and Deacon amongst other roles. She also rejoiced in her participation in the PEO Sisterhood. Pat was always ahead of her time, and with foresight entered a brain donor study in 2004, her brain will be used to further research in Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
