Obituary of John Alessandrini

Loving husband, John Alessandrini, 87, passed to be with the Lord on January 28, 2022, at Bethany Home Assisted Living, Sun City, AZ. He was born April 1934 to John and Theresa Alessandrini in Gary, IN. He worked at U.S. Steel Gary Works before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1954 for 4 years, receiving honorable discharge with rank of Staff Sergeant. After the military, John went into the insurance business with his wife, Joyce. He spent most of career with E.I. DuPont in Automotive Refinish as an Industrial Paint Specialist. In his 33-year career with DuPont, he was consistently promoted to larger territories in Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona, where he finally retired. Throughout his careers, he was always a top performer winning many awards and trips. His interests over the years included flying aircraft, racing sports cars, and playing the trumpet. After retirement, John played trumpet in the Sun City Concert Band, the Desert Brass Band, the All-Stars Band and many others. John and his wife were members of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Joyce; two sons, Randy (Kim) of Neenah, WI and David (Erika) of Luna Pier, MI; daughter Lisa Docter (Richard) of Phoenix, AZ; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers-in-law and 5 sisters-in-law. His cremains will be interred at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN next month. There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Fairway Recreation Center Social Hall #2 at 11:00 a.m. The center is located at 10600 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City, AZ.
