Obituary of Roy Michael Leary

Roy Michael Leary, known as “Mike” to all, passed away, May 17, 2023, at home, in his sleep. A service is planned on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Elks Lodge in Sun City, AZ Mike was born Dec. 4, 1948, to Roy and Beverly Leary in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the 2nd of 8 children. He met, fell in love, and married Marjorie Pifher in Baker City, OR 54 years ago. He pursued a career in the grocery business and worked his way up to a regional supervisor. In between, he owned several businesses including a bakery, donut shop and farm irrigation. He was always looking for the next business adventure, to make life easier, for his beautiful wife and 2 children. Several years later, after moving between Nampa, ID and the suburbs of Salt Lake City, UT, he settled in Peoria, AZ in 1996.

Some of his favorite times were spent boating, camping, traveling, watching golf, family game night or just enjoying time with his family and friends. Another deep passion of his life was becoming a member of the Elks. He served on several different levels including president of the Rambling Suns RV Group, Trustee, and House Committee. He is survived by his loving wife, Marge; son, Daniel (Courtney) Leary; daughter Stephanie Ebert; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and several “bonus” grandchildren and 2 “bonus” great-grandchildren. Mike has ALWAYS enjoyed life to the fullest, no matter what life handed him. He shared a smile and a laugh SO BIG it carried through the whole room
