98, of Surprise, AZ went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2023. He was born September 6, 1924 in Carbondale, PA to Paul and Mildred Branning.  He was preceded in death by his brother Frank and his beloved wife Lillian. John is survived by his 4 children, Jack, Carol,Paul and Craig, his 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. John was a hard worker and providing for his family was top priority.  John was a firefighter for the Springfield Fire Department in Springfield, NJ for 25 years.  He was a very passionate and dedicated fireman.  John cared deeply for his fellow firemen on his crew.  John retired from the Springfield Fire Department as Captain in 1979.  Some of John’s fondest memories involved the fire department. In 1980 John and his wife Lil moved to Phoenix, AZ. John lived a long and blessed life and was very ready as a Christian to join Lil to be in eternity with the Lord.
