

Obituary of Matthew Mark Frenza
Phoenix – Matthew Mark Frenza, 69, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 29, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ave Maria (McKindles) Frenza; his son, Matthew Michael; his granddaughter, Harper; mother, Mary Frenza; sisters, Michelle Iglesias (Julio), Adeline Wood (David), and Marsha Cielock (Stan); and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Matt is predeceased by his father, Michael Angelo Frenza.
This handsome man with a mischievous grin and a twinkle in his eye, was born and reared in Syracuse, NY, attending both St. Brigid’s Elementary School and Bishop Luden High School. His love of sports began in his youth as an avid fan of the Syracuse Orangemen. He eventually moved to Arizona, working in construction. It was a good move in that he met lifelong friends, including his beloved wife.
Matt worked in the automobile industry until he returned to school to pursue a degree in liberal arts from Northern Arizona University. He worked for 20 years for the Veteran’s Administration, retiring in 2018. In his earlier life, and in retirement he enjoyed fishing the mountain lakes of northern Arizona, golf, and BINGO!
Matt was a loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend, and all are grieving the loss of such a good man.
