Obituary of Kirk John Dixon

Kirk John Dixon peacefully passed away on March 2, 2023, at his home in Sun City, Arizona. He was the 2nd of two children born on November 23, 1944, to John Albert Dixon and Frances Josephine (Kirk) Dixon. He graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1962 and graduated from Arizona State University in 1966 with degrees in Chemistry and Math and minors in Spanish and German. He married Marilyn Oleah Everett Dixon in 1964. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They were happily married for 58 years and had three children, Kathy Dixon Mander (Mark Mander), John Kirk Dixon (Lesa Grant Dixon), and Amy Shea, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in two Bishoprics, on the High Council, and as an ordinance worker in the Temple for 14 years. He served on a mission with his dear wife, Marilyn, in the Phoenix Arizona Mission. He had a lifelong love for fishing and camping with his family. He will always be remembered for his genuine kindness, his love for service, and his unwavering dedication to following the Savior’s example in all that he did. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his sister Barbara Dennie, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We will greatly miss him but will be comforted to know that he is with his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as well as his family that has passed before him.
