Mike and Connie had four children, Laurie Lowe Ellard, Jamison Lowe Higgins, Todd Michael Johnson Lowe and Robert Michael Judson Lowe. After Mike graduated from Colfax High School in 1960, he pursued a degree in Zoology at Washington State University, and then earned his Master’s of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacology at the University of Washington.
