Obituary of Beverly Biggar

Beverly Byington Biggar, 77 passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2021 in Sun City, AZ after a short illness. Beverly was born on July 8, 1944 in Walton, NY to the late Donald W. and Marion A. (Carey) Byington. Beverly received her BS in Education with a minor in Biology from State University of NY-Oneonta. She received her MS in Reading from the College of St. Rose. She taught elementary school in Troy, NY District schools 12 & 18 for 35 years. During her teaching years, Beverly was a member of the Troy Teachers Association, a Board member of the Commission on Economic Opportunity of Rensselaer County, Chairman of Head Start Policy Council. Beverly enjoyed antiques and was a member of the Moordenerkill Antique study group. In her retirement, she and her husband, the late John J Biggar were avid travelers enjoying everything from road trips to world cruises. Most of all Beverly enjoyed being actively involved with her grandsons. She rarely missed a special event or activity and spent many a weekend with them. Beverly is survived by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, John J Biggar after more than 25 years together. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Symonds (Charles Hamilton), grandsons Kyle Donald Roman Symonds and Wyatt Gary Lucas Symonds, brother Donald Gene (Jeanette) Byington of NJ, sisters Sharon DeVaney of NY and Barbara Byington of NJ. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Timothy Byington.
