Obituary of Roula Froumis

On June 18th, 2023, our beloved angel Roula Froumis, born Eleftheria Papakonstantinou, peacefully left this world and traveled on to the next. While she only traveled around the sun 65 times, she provided us with enough love, joy, happiness and free meals to fill a 100 lifetimes. She was an artist in many realms. From perfecting the perfect baklava recipe to creating the warmest setting for greeting her friends and family. She spent most of our lives ensuring that everyone is well taken care of and well fed. No matter what she did in this life, she added a refined touch. That includes the love she showed to her children and grandchildren.  We will always love, miss and celebrate this amazing woman. 

Roula grew up between two worlds. Starting in Athens, Greece, then becoming an adult in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. No matter where she was, she had the loving support of her family to help her grow into an amazing woman. From her strong hard working parents, to her sisters who were like best friends. She kept an open and creative mind laden with ideas and dreams of a fulfilling future and a heart filled with love and hope. All while maintaining an elegant and an appearance stylish enough to be on the cover of a magazine or classic movie. Outside of the Midwest, she spent a larger sum of her life here in Phoenix. Working multiple careers, from small to big. Sometimes catering her amazing food for others to experience. That includes Greek festivals here in the valley, as well as feasts sized to feed a city block. Aside from her deep passion for food and her expansive career, her priorities were her 2 children and later, her 2 grandchildren. Spending time with them was what she looked forward to the most in her everyday life. Constantly filling their hearts, keeping everyone together and making sure all of their futures were bright. The epitome of a beautiful and strong mother. 

She is preceded in death by her Sister Tina and parents, Dimitra and Chrisostomos Papakonstantinou. She is survived by her two children, Sophia Greenrock and Christopher Froumis, her grandchildren Tristin and Constantine Greenrock, and her sisters, Sofia (Peter) Chambi and Maria (Nick) Karagiannakis, her nieces Christine (Chambi) Raphtis, Louisa (Chambi) Andreopoulos, Nicole (Kallabat) Karagiannakis, and Joann (Chambi) Kariganakis.
