Beckie Johnstun-Moates

Obituary of Beckie Johnstun-Moates

Beckie Johnstun-Moates was born in Gooding Idaho on 2/22/46, the youngest of 12 siblings, shortly thereafter moved and was raised in Shoshone Idaho, through her high school years graduating from Shoshone High in 1963.  After graduation Beckie moved with her parents to Ogden Utah for a short period of time, prior to marrying the love of her life on December 31, 1964, and relocating to Twin Falls Idaho.  In the following years, Gary and Beckie raised three boys, Charles, Robert, and Brian in Southern Idaho until relocating to Phoenix AZ in 1970 where they primarily remained until today.

After retiring from ST Micro Electronics in 2006, Beckie enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, quilting, reading, traveling, and spending time with her best friend Chickie Doyle.

In later years Gary and Beckie would spend their summer months traveling from the west coast to the east coast and back in the Northern and Southern states visiting family and friends.

Beckie was ferocious when it came to her family and friends, always lending a willing hand, a piece of advice and a comforting hug.

Beckie is survived by her Husband Gary Moates, her sister Bessie Miron, her brother Ted Johnstun, her three sons and their wives Charles (Cyndi), Robert (Wendy), Brian (Jenny).  Grandchildren Dustin, Michael, Tyler (Julian), Jarod (Abygail), Rylie, Lily, Brody, Heather, Miesha and Ben.  Great grandchildren Ivan, Nathan, Audrey, Natalie, Hailey, Preston, Remi, Peyton and soon to be Wiley-Jo.

After a short illness Beckie passed away on 7/23/23 and we would very much like to thank the care givers at Honor Health Deer Valley and Sherman House, Hospice of the Valley for their exceptional care of Beckie and the family.

Beckie was greatly loved and cherished by her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed, but always in our hearts.
