Obituary of Roberta Lee Dobbs

Roberta (Bobbie) Lee Dobbs of Sun City, Az passed on 10-9-2023.  She was born on January 4, 1943
in West Virginia. to Charles and Hilda (Alexander) Danish.

Bobbie Dobbs was not a person you forgot once you’ve met her. It was her prerogative to ensure that you wouldn’t, and you couldn’t just by virtue of her inherent exuberance alone. From the moment she was born, Bobbie was determined to take advantage of the near impossible chance she’d been given in our universe — to be alive. And, any person who knew her would have to tell you that she did just that. She lived, in every sense of the word.

Be it skydiving, motorcycle riding, sailing, playing musical instruments…Bobbie was determined to be able to converse about anything she could based on having done it herself, or at the very least learned about it extensively enough to have a detailed opinion on it. And when you talked to her, you could rest assured that you would receive her opinion regardless of whether or not you asked for it.

Suffice to say, Bobby never quite felt “at home” while at home and would usually have rather been experiencing the world past her doorstep with her husband, Ken. However, she always found respite with a game of cards, or when spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she cherished above anything.

Naturally, Bobbie’s exuberance and affability led her to become a high school teacher, where she relished every second of her opportunity to help mentor and educate young men and women who oftentimes found themselves in her classroom coming from underprivileged communities. Bobbie’s passion for life could be easily garnered from any one of the students lucky enough to have had her as their teacher.

Bobbie’s family and friends were the bedrock of a fulfilling life which she and her husband made sure never to take for granted. Though Bobbie’s opinions on future events may be absent, her spirit for enjoying every moment of every day will live on through every person whose lives were made better for simply knowing her.

Bobbie was a Teacher for Tolleson high school district

She liked bowling, dancing, flea markets, and antiquing, loved a goodloved a good card game with her friends, and loved her family very much she cared about people more than herself. She had a great sense of humor, tough as nails.

She is survived by her Spouse, Kenneth Dobbs, children Michael S Koslow (Dorothy) Westlake Village, California

Eric C Koslow (Cheryl) Sun City, Arizona, Bonny L Murphy (Tim) Omaha, Nebraska, Bryan Dobbs (Liz) Avalon, Indiana, 26 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild.

Thank you to the family and friends that have really stepped up and helped us through this most difficult time. Your love and caring will not be forgotten.

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep

But I have promises to keep

And miles to go before I sleep

And miles to go before I sleep”

-Robert Frost
