Obituary of Richard Bruno Nonini

Richard (Rich) Bruno Nonini, age 76, passed away under hospice care on October 22, 2023.  Rich was born June 28, 1947 in Bristol, PA to Bruno and Marie (Swank) Nonini.  He attended The Pennsylvania State University for his undergraduate degree, where he was involved in Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity and ROTC.  After graduation from Penn State in 1969, he served 3 years in the US Marine Corps.  He received his MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 1973.

 He worked for 37 years for Lockheed Martin and its legacy companies, beginning at Burroughs Corporation in 1973, where he met his wife, Nancy.  Rich raised his family in Apple Valley, MN where he volunteered coaching youth sports and teaching Sunday school.  A wrestler in his youth, Rich enjoyed cheering on the nationally ranked Apple Valley High School Eagle wrestling team, especially his son, Scott.

Rich and Nancy relocated to Sun City, AZ in 2014 following their daughter, Elisa, and son-in-law in hopes of a future grandchild.  Their move was rewarded in 2019, and their granddaughter, Charlotte, became the light of Rich’s life.  In retirement Rich pursued his interests in golf, travel and volunteering, especially in leadership roles.  He was Commander of the Sun City Posse in the COVID year of 2020 and ran the AARP tax program at Westbrook Village, AZ.   

Rich is survived by his wife, Nancy (Lecrone), of Sun City, daughter Elisa (Jared and Charlotte) Moen of Scottsdale, son Scott (Karina) Nonini of Vail, CO, and siblings Edward, John (Joann) and Mary (Anthony) Habib of Bucks County, PA and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Loyal Order of Moose Bucks Lodge, 2299 Radcliffe St, Bristol, PA on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 5:00 PM.  Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or AMVETS (amvets.org).
