Obituary of Paul Carter Rice

Paul Rice age 77 passed away in Sun City, AZ on November 1st 2023.

Born December 11, 1945 in Greenfield, MA to Milton Rice and Constance Rice (nee Carter). His siblings are sisters Penny and Pam.  He attended radio broadcsting school in Boston, MA, and Greefield Community College where he obtained an Associates Degree.  Paul worked for FRTA in Greefield for many years and won employee of the year.  He worked as a radio broadcaster for WHAI and was an English teacher in St. Croix for one year.  Paul serviced in Vietnam in radio comminications.

Paul was an avid reader of sci-fi, astrology, and metaphysical books, and he loved to watch Startrek.  A fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots. He loved playing catch with his kids at the park as well.  A naturalist, he loved hiking around the woods of Western MA with his children and had a green thumb for gardening.  He was a very loving man especialy kind to children and elderly people, and full of wit, wisdom, and "Dad jokes".

He is survived by his spouse Bevery Jean Rice.  His children, daughter Cassandra Rockwood Rice Ghanem, son Carter Deane Rice, stepsons Dave, Dan, Cory and Brian.  Siblings sisters Penny and Pam. Uncle Wesley and several cousins and extended family that he loved very much.

A quote he shared with his daughter: "Illegitimi non carbordunum". A bad Dad joke: "This is my hope chest, I hope it goes back to my chest" (said while holding his belly).  His stepson, Dan, said "He was brave to take on our family."
