Obituary of Rosemary Margaret Robinson

Colonel Rosemary Levonski Robinson, 75, passed away on October 27, 2023. She was born on September 20, 1948, in Little Falls, New York to Mary Elizabeth Badgett Levonski and Leon Raymond Levonski.

 

Colonel Robinson had a distinguished 30-year career in the United States Army Nurse Corps. She began her military career in 1966 when she enrolled in the Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing program. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland in 1970. Over the next three decades, Colonel Robinson served in a variety of nursing roles including critical care nurse, nurse educator, nurse administrator,  Inspector General, deputy chief of hospital, and Chief Nurse to the Army Surgeon General. She attained the rank of Colonel in 1991 and retired from Military service in 2000.

 

Among her many accomplishments, Colonel Robinson implemented training programs for Army nurses, oversaw hospital inspections and accreditations, served as a nursing consultant to the Army Surgeon General, and held leadership positions at several major Army medical facilities. She was awarded the Legion of Merit upon her retirement.

 

In her personal life, Colonel Robinson was married to LaRue Robinson and together they raised 4  children, Sunhe, Andrew, Jessica, and Tylan. She was a loving mother and maintained close relationships with her children and grandchildren.

 

Colonel Robinson is remembered for her dedication to the nursing profession, her excellent leadership, her groundbreaking work on operational readiness and emergency triage care, and her commitment to the care and well-being of soldiers and their families. She touched countless lives through her compassionate care and service.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband LaRue. Colonel Robinson is survived by her children Sunhe, Andrew,  Jessica, and Tylan; grandchildren Angelica, Aaron, Makyah, Asa, and Maliyah; great-grandchild Amara; and siblings Raymond and Robert.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1st at Regency Mortuary in Surprise, AZ. There will be full military services at Arlington details are still TBD
