Lonnie North

Obituary of Lonnie Lee North

Lonnie Lee North, 62, returned to his Heavenly home on November 17, 2023 after suffering complications from a stroke with his family by his side.

Lonnie was born to parents Jay North Sr. and Rena North on April 4, 1961 in Shenandoah, IA.  He was the oldest of five children with three brothers and one sister:  Tracy, Monte, Donna, and Jay.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jay North Sr.  He is survived by his mother, Rena North; his brother, Tracy North (wife Carla); his brother, Monte North (wife Gail); sister, Donna Hines; and brother, Jay North Jr. (wife Melanie).

As the oldest, Lonnie was the leader of the pack.  From a very young age, he was so curious with electricity, how things were put together, and how they worked.  As a toddler learning to walk, he even tried to put bobby pins in the electrical outlets.  Thankfully Momma Bear was close by to overt any tragedies.  He enjoyed taking apart radios and tv’s, and he even built his own robots.  Later when computers were introduced to the world, Lonnie learned how to write code and create his own computer programs.

Lonnie had a love for music and enjoyed spending time with family.  From a very young age, he learned how to play the bass guitar in the North family band, “Country Generation”, and traveled with his family on weekends to play for weddings and VFW clubs.

Lonnie always had a special love for his children and their children.  He is survived by his daughter, Elisha Corley; his son, Lonny North Jr. (wife Heather); his daughter, Tiffany North; his daughter, Tabetha North; and his daughter, Nicole Kuhl; and his 14 grandchildren.  He will always be loved and missed by his entire family.

Lonnie’s cremation will take place at Regency Mortuary in Sun City, AZ.  Arrangements will be made for a Celebration of Life.  The family is grateful for all your condolences.
