Obituary of Arturo and Martha Estrella

In Loving Memory of Arturo Robert Estrella (01/25/38 - 11/26/2023) and Martha Helen Estrella (07/15/1942 - 12/4/2023)

Arturo Robert Estrella, born on January 25, 1938, and Martha Helen Estrella, born on July 15, 1942, left this world hand in hand after an incredible journey of love that spanned over six decades. They were married for 61 years, a testament to the enduring power of their bond.

Both natives of Tucson, Arizona, Arturo and Martha were proud graduates of Tucson High School. Their love story began at a young age when Martha, a student at the University of Arizona, crossed paths with Arturo, who was serving his country in the U.S. Navy. Their connection was instant, and they soon embarked on a lifelong journey together, becoming inseparable partners in love and life.

Family was at the heart of Arturo and Martha's world. Their devotion to each other extended to their two daughters, Ilena Estrella-Cordova and Renee Estrella-Chavez. The Estrella legacy also includes their cherished grandchildren: Alex Estrella, Alexys Chavez, Miguel Chavez, and Isaak Chavez. Martha is also survived by sister Christine Jorgensen. Arturo and Martha took great pride in watching their family grow and flourish, finding joy in every milestone and achievement.

One of the annual highlights for the Estrella family was the Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Arturo and Martha. A tradition that spanned years, the couple opened their hearts and home to the entire family, creating cherished memories around the dinner table. To add to the festivities, they would generously treat everyone to the music of a live Mariachi band, a reflection of their appreciation for culture and tradition.

In honoring their memory, we celebrate a love that transcends time and a legacy that will forever remain in our hearts. May Arturo and Martha find eternal peace together, and may their enduring love continue to guide and inspire us all.

The funeral will take place at Saint Jerome Catholic Church 10815 N. 35^th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029 on January 25^th, 2024 at 11:00am and burial following at 1:00 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
