Obituary of Jim David Janzen

Jim David Janzen was born in Reedley, CA, on February 8, 1946, and passed away on April 9, 2024.  His parents were David and Annie Isaac Janzen.

Jim attended Wahtoke School and Reedley High School and graduated in 1964.  After graduation, he attended Reedley Junior College for a year before joining the Navy during the Vietnam era.  He served on the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard from 1966-1968 in the Gulf of Tonkin.

He married Gayle Fisher in 1967 and had two children, David and Stephanie Janzen.  After leaving the Navy, he started working at Swanson Company which dealt with plastic pipe and irrigation supplies. He was office manager and then vice president of sales for the Fresno plant.

In 1999 he transferred from Fresno, California, to Phoenix, Arizona, and became the sales manager for California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.  In 2011 he retired, and the focus of his life became his family to which he was dedicated.

He was a special man who gave his all in everything he did.  He will be especially missed by his wife Gayle; his son David and his family Debra, Justin and Jaclyn; his daughter Stephanie and family John, Jordan & Jared, Stevie& Chris, and Avery.  Many family members and close friends also mourn his loss.
